Latest Allergy News and Research

A recent study published online in the journal Pediatrics noted that pregnant women need probiotics to help lower the risk of allergies for their babies.

Those who suffer from severe skin allergies may suffer from a deficiency in structural cells within their skin, according to researchers from Northwestern University.

In the news, a flu vaccine is now available for those with egg allergies.

From a news report, “Asthma is a disease that mostly affects young boys and adult women. And according to a new study, women in their 40s and 50s with asthma are hospitalized more than twice as often as men in the same age group.”

In the news, the Discovery Channel and FARE have partnered to produce a new documentary on food allergies.

The hour-long production, titled “An Emerging Epidemic: Food Allergies in America”, is narrated by actor Steve Carell (whose own daughter is food-allergic) and tells the stories of people who manage life-threatening food allergies every day.
